A TESTIMONY FROM A MEMBER OF ST. PAUL‘S
In one of his sermon, Mike stressed that in order to be blessed by God it is important to have a structure in our lives that should include tithing our income, spending time with God in Bible study and prayer and serving God within our church.
As a relatively mature Christian, from my experience, over the years God has done exactly that. At times when I was not financially well off and I was tempted not to give, I found that God honoured my decision by sending extra money unexpectedly my way so that I always had enough for what I needed.
I personally begin every day with a Quiet Time of prayer and Bible study with God before I go to work or before I begin the weekend activities. If I leave it to later in the day, time flies and it is hard to fit it in, so I do try to have a Quiet Time first thing in the morning, although I appreciate the fact that this may not be the most suitable time for other people. It is also a priority to attend church every Sunday.
Over the years I have tried to serve God in the various churches that I have attended. The service that I am involved in now is different to what I have done in the past and we need to be sensible about what we take on, especially as we get older, take on family responsibilites and our health deteriorates. But-we can all serve God in one way or another.
I have written this as one who feels truly blessed by God who has met my every need and seen me through some difficult situations. Although I have submitted this article anonymously, Mike and Johnson know who I am. If anyone would like to hear more about my personal experiences as a means of encouraging you to show you how God can bless you too, I am happy to share more with you. (Just ask Mike or Johnson to refer me to you,)
What Mike said was and is true. Being a Christian is not always easy, but if we obey God, he will indeed richly bless us.
