Residentials are a fantastic way for young people to have fun, get to know each other better and learn about God in a fun-filled setting. St Paul's offers several opportunities each year for young people to experience a Christian residential:
St. Paul's Church has been running residential weekends for secondary
school age
young people since 2000. Each year, usually during November or December,
we have taken the young people to Carroty Wood, a residential centre in Kent run
by the Barnabas Trust.
Since 2004 we have been going to Dalesdown in West Sussex.
The weekend is a great chance for young people in the Church to get to know each other better, get very muddy and generally have a bit of a riot.
In previous years the theme of the weekend has included:
Several members of St. Paul's church are involved as volunteers with Scripture Union, who run many holidays across the UK for children and young people between the ages of 8 and 18+. These include general activity holidays and special interest holidays, such as drama, sailing and cycling holidays. Click here for more details of Scripture Union Holidays.
Each
year, the Campaigner groups at St Paul's meet up with Campaigner groups from
Coventry and Blackpool for an activity filled week. The location varies,
but have included the Isle of Man and Derbyshire.
